This is the same skill Jonathan uses in this workshop. His setup is included as an editable starting point: keep the parts that fit, and let your AI adapt the rest to yours.
The ZIP includes the skill, its references, README, and scripts. SKILL.md alone is useful for reading; use the full bundle for setup and work.

- The right tool for the shape
- CadQuery for dimension-driven solid parts. Blender for sculptural detail, scenery, and mesh work. Combine tools when the design benefits from both.
- Materials and print preparation
- Choose materials and compatible slicer profiles using actual equipment and available evidence. Keep unknown stock, estimates, and measured amounts distinct.
- Checks you can trust
- Check dimensions, geometry, exported files, and slicer behavior. Keep computer validation separate from a physically inspected print.
The main skill stays compact. Your AI opens deeper references when the task needs them, so every project does not start with a wall of instructions.
Start with your setup
- Download and unpack the complete skill. Keep its folders together. Open the README for installation in your agent’s skill directory, or give your agent access to the unpacked folder.
- Ask your AI to read SKILL.md. It should inspect available tools, then help fill in the user-config section inside that file: equipment, folders, materials, and your preferences.
- Try one small project. Have it build a simple dimensioned part, export it, and check the result before moving on to a larger design.
Read this skill and help me set it up. Adapt its user-config section to my equipment and preferences, keep useful defaults, and ask about anything that would change the physical design. Then help me make and validate a small test part.
Jon’s Mac, Bambu H2C, and 0.4 mm nozzle are a working example. Other printers, operating systems, tools, and creative approaches belong here too. The skill is written for capable agents; available tools still depend on your agent and computer.

There is one shared skill, with your distinctions in its user-config section. Before updating, preserve that section and your local changes. Review the release notes, bring in the new version, and merge your configuration back into the same skill file.
Use, modify, and share it under the MIT license. Contributions should make a workflow clearer or more capable, include evidence for technical claims, and keep the core easy to load. New tools and different setups are welcome.
